Colour Blocking is Back

Jil Sander SS 2011

Quick! Go run through a fluoro paint ball battle field, because colour blocking is 'in' again!

Colour is a recurring theme througout the Spring Summer 2011 collections. Jil Sander is a colour-blocking extravaganza this season and Versus by Christopher Kane breaks out the bright, clashing colours too. Bright colours continue on through D&G's floral-themed collection as well as Prada's SS 2011 offerings and the Moschino Cheap & Chic Presentation. Even Burberry featured flashes of neon.

Here are some tips from British Vogue on colour blocking... From 2009! It may be several seasons ago now, but judging by the sea of clashing colours we're seeing, it's still relevent.

Complimentary Colours
•Team colours from the same family together for a harmonious look - think bright pinks with vivid fuchsias, turquoise with royal blue
•Keep warmer tones like orange and red together
•Go for a neutral-toned shoe to keep it simple

Mixing it Up
•Work regal purples in with contrasting, fiery oranges
•Try lime green with melon or rosebud pink for a pleasantly jarring combination
•Go to town on the look with a loud, contrasting shoe or handbag

Anna Dello Russo's Fashion Month Looks

Fashion week is all about the clothes, right? Maybe not always the clothes draping from the models though... I could watch an entire collection of just Anna Dello Russo's looks! So, here are a few the style icon's fashion show outfits from the various fashion weeks across the globe.

I especially love the lime Pucci outfit, the Balenciaga dress and I'm always a little fond of Worth Couture. FYI, my girl Kylie Minogue also made an appearance at Pucci and stole the show in a stunning gold Pucci mini dress.

Square Sunglasses Spell Sexy!

Straight lines are in for sunglasses! If not, they are now. I love these beauties by Rad Hourani from the s/s 2011 show. Futuristic styles might have had their run, but meh, these are amazing.

Why are Disney villains always so glamorous?

It seems my favourite Disney characters are always the villains! Am I evil or is there some kind of appeal to Disney's villains? Yes! They're just so damn glamorous!

I don't know if Disney is supposed to be revealing the imperfections of pretty, fashionable people; showing that beauty isn't always external, but these evil Queens and first ladies are cartoon chic! Here's a selection of my favourites:

Marina Del Rey - The Little Mermaid

Marina in full drag-queen glamour!

The Ice Queen - Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe

And of course, Cruella DeVille - 101 Dalmations

Wellington Boots are Sexy!

Wellington boots, wellies, gumboots, rain boots - whatever you call them - they're the chic-est piece of footwear of the spring/summer season!

Wear them like the Burberry Prorsum boys (above) with svelte biker pants or dark skinny jeans and a trench or an oversized thin/light knit for those warmer days.

Recent offerings from the Jimmy Choo collaboration with Hunter... Croc skin print boots that will set you back about 255 GBP or $430 AUD. Sexy, no?

Burberry Prorsum s/s 2011 wellingtons. My favourite boots of the season!

Hunter original boots, super versatile and similarly stylish. Very reasonable at just 62 GBP or a bit over $100 AUD.

Erika Sawajiri Photoshoot for WWD

Japanese model Erika Sawajiri is b-e-autiful. When I first saw this clip, I actually thought she was a doll! The shot looks so interesting and uber glamorous - kind of Marie Antoinette visits the tower of London-esque.

I don't read Japanese, so I have no idea what she's wearing, but the mask is by Japanese accessories designer Joji Kojima and there's obviously a bit of Dior. That's all I got!

Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way

The original Pop Princess has finally released her long-awaited music video for Get Outta My Way today. Miss K has really evolved into a high fashion glamazon over her 20 year career - her choice of shoes is especially worth mentioning and her 'Shoe of The Day' twitpics are the highlight of my Twitter world!

Watch the video here.

Kylie was kind enough to tweet her looks, so here goes: black mesh and silver chain mini-dress by Davidkoma, heels by Nicholas Kirkwood and customised light gloves.

Gold chain couture dress and claw ring by www.theblondsnewyork.com. Gold heels by Christian Louboutin.

I repeatedly O-EM-GEED at the shoes... Just sayin'.

Gaultier Paris couture corset & JPG mini tuxedo robe. Red leather thigh boots by Christian Louboutin. Customised red finger gloves.

Gaultier Paris couture corset. Customised harness cape (based on black Gareth Pugh from Showgirl tour) and customised finger gloves.

FYI, all of the crazy lighting effects in the video are in real-time, not green-screened or computer edited. Amazing!

Lanvin X H&M Collaboration

H&M and Lanvin confirmed this week they would be collaborating! Lanvin head-designer Alber Elbaz explained H&M would be going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.

Blogger Madeleine Louise mentioned how interesting it will be to see what Lanvin does with fabric costs cut.

Lanvin is always super glamorous and it's one of those houses that produces looks where there's not a single dud, and not only are there no 'bad' looks, but every single piece has that wow factor!

My favourite looks from Lanvin's A/W 10/11 collection (choosing favourite children is easy, choosing a favourite Lanvin look is way harder):
